About Me

About me

In addition to my private practice, I am clinical lead for a UK charity.

I am trained in the person-centred approach to counselling. This means that I believe human beings tend to do the best we can with the resources we have. My approach as a counsellor is to offer you a relationship in which you can uncover, or build up, the resources that you need to live life more as you choose.

I aim to
- give you my full attention at all times
- understand you, not judge you
- share my thoughts and feelings with you openly

With fifteen years post-qualification experience in counselling, I have been fortunate to work with a broad range of people, on lots of different issues including depression, bereavement, relationship and family difficulties. I have particular experience in supporting people with the following:
- domestic violence
- sexual abuse and rape
- long-term health conditions
- appearance concerns
- sexual identity and gender identity (I am an LGBT-affirmative and kink-aware counsellor)

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work in accordance with the Association’s Ethical Framework.
